About

With over three decades of musical excellence, the Leipzig Quartet is hailed internationally as one of the premier string quartets of our time. Founded in 1988 by principal musicians of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, the quartet has built a distinguished reputation for its precision, warmth, and interpretive depth.

The ensemble has received top honors at the International ARD Competition in Munich and the International String Quartet Competition in Evian, and regularly appears on the world’s most prestigious stages—from London’s Wigmore Hall and New York’s Lincoln Center to the Salzburg and Lucerne Festivals. Their discography of over 80 recordings, including the complete Beethoven and Schubert quartets, has earned acclaim from Gramophone, The Strad, and BBC Music Magazine.

Renowned for both classic and contemporary repertoire, the Leipzig Quartet has premiered dozens of new works and is known for its insightful interpretations that blend German tradition with international flair. This rare U.S. appearance promises an afternoon of refined artistry and expressive clarity.
