Light the Woods with Sound
Raleigh-based Neon artist Nate Sheaffer will debut Light the Woods with Sound, a one of a kind installation of 384 neon tubes suspended in a grove of oak trees at Dix Park and connected to electronic theremins and synthesizers. This one of a kind installation will be on display Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from May 11th through May 27th. Come play the installation!
From large-scale performances to intimate workshops, each night of Light the Woods with Sound has been designed to create an experience for everyone. Guests on Fridays will be able to observe how artists can play the installation and try it themselves. Saturday nights will feature performances by both local artists and iconic musicians in a concert-style setting with food trucks and breweries. Sunday evening Playshops are a chance for guests to meet the artist, ask behind-the-scene questions, and experiment with the cutting edge technology that makes this installation so unique.
The event is free, but registration is recommended. Doors open at 7pm, and the event begins at 8pm nightly.
