About

Creativity stays alive only when it’s fed. For nearly twenty years, Matisyahu has kept his fire burning by evolving his sound, blending genres, and pushing against the musical traditions that shaped him. His new EP Hold The Fire and its single “Fireproof” draw on a vivid fire dream rooted in the Old Testament spirituality that has guided him since his 2004 debut and his 2005 breakout “King Without a Crown.”

Raised outside New York City, the young Matthew Miller followed jam bands before discovering reggae and the Old Testament echoes in Rastafarianism. His early albums—including the Gold‑certified Live at Stubb’s—merged reggae energy with Jewish spiritual themes. Hits like the Grammy‑nominated Youth and the Gold‑certified “One Day” fueled years of touring and a stage show that grew increasingly improvisational as his music expanded into reggae, hip‑hop, alt‑rock, and inventive pop.

Today, Matisyahu continues exploring new sounds while staying grounded in his Jewish heritage. On Hold The Fire (February 2024), he reflects on fame, creativity, and the sense of connection to his people that keeps his artistic fire alive.
