Meghan Trainor: The Get In Girl Tour with Icona Pop

About

Meghan Trainor is a pop artist from Nantucket, Massachusetts. She rose to fame with the breakout success of her debut single, “All About That Bass,” which became a hit in 2014. It spent eight consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned dual Grammy nominations for Song of the Year and Record of the Year. Trainor’s debut full-length album, Title, was released in 2015 and charted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, featuring follow-up singles like “Lips Are Movin,” “Dear Future Husband” and “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” featuring John Legend. In 2016, the singer took home the Grammy Award for Best New Artist and also released her sophomore LP, Thank You. Subsequent projects in Trainor’s discography include the EP The Love Train (2019), Treat Myself (2020) and A Very Trainor Christmas (2020). Her 2023 album Takin’ It Back was a return to the blue-eyed soul sound of her debut, and scored the singer her first Top 20 hit since 2016 in the form of “Made You Look.”

Swedish duo Icona Pop helped start countless dance parties in 2013 with their infectious mix of dance-punk and electro-house. Singles such as "Manners” and “I Love It” (which Pitchfork labeled a Best New Track and peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100) made them an impossible-to-ignore force on the EDM scene. Both tracks were included on their international debut, This Is... Icona Pop, in 2013, which came out on Big Beat Records and debuted at No. 36 on the Billboard 200. Many songs from the album appeared on an earlier self-titled, Swedish-only release in 2012. Icona Pop won legions of more fans in the US by playing to ticket holders on the festival circuit as well as at concerts opening for indie faves Passion Pit and Matt & Kim. Icona Pop is made up of Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo, who grew up in Stockholm and first met at a party in 2009 despite attending the same music school. The two clicked and started collaborating almost immediately.
