Root Shock with The Hourglass Kids

Root Shock: (Syracuse, New York)

Syracuse-based Root Shock is a popular reggae-inspired band fronted by founding members vocalist Jessica Brown and guitarist/singer Phil Grajko plus keyboardist Brian Lauri, drummer Tyre Outerbridge and bassist Elliot Jarvis. The group plays their original music on the Syracuse club circuit, in venues up and down the East Coast and performs in numerous large events including the Rochester Lilac Festival, Great Blue Heron Music Festival in Sherman, NY and the Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival in Pittsboro, NC.

The Hourglass Kids: (Raleigh, NC)

The Hourglass Kids began as a group of high school friends jamming in various basements in their hometown of Hickory, North Carolina. Over time, they have evolved into a seven-piece reggae-jam-rock collective known for their mind-melting live performances. Pulling from the musical creativity of all seven members and the unique lyricism of four songwriters and vocalists, The Kids traverse a breadth of stylistic and emotional terrain that includes roots reggae, psychedelic rock, neo-soul, hip-hop, and jazz-rock.
