Science Cafe: Trees in the City of Oaks

About

Did you know? Trees filter stormwater, sequester carbon, and help reduce heating and cooling costs. They also help create a sense of place, as we see here in the City of Oaks. Our speakers will share information about caring for trees in an urban environment and will answer questions about the City of Raleigh’s Urban Forestry Program.

About our speakers

Jill Jonnes is the author of “Urban Forests: A Natural History of Trees and People in the American Cityspace.”
