Seminar 7: Trail Safety - Heat, Pets, Bikes, Nature and Hydration

This outdoor summer safety class covers essential tips for staying safe while hiking, biking, and exploring Raleigh’s trails and greenways with family and pets. Participants will learn about hydration, recognizing heat exhaustion and heat stroke, hot pavement safety for pets, trail etiquette, and the best times to be outdoors during extreme heat.

The class also reviews wildlife awareness, common North Carolina snakes, basic bike repair skills, water safety around Raleigh rivers, and laws related to leaving pets in vehicles. Designed for outdoor enthusiasts of all experience levels, the program promotes safe, responsible recreation throughout the summer.
