There is so much joy to be found in nature’s abundance…
Come along with Daniel Woody, a leader of the Raleigh-Triangle Wild Food Foragers organization, and an incredibly seasoned forager and gardener.
We will be collecting & identifying spring wildflowers along with sharing knowledge on their nutritional & medicinal value and their natural beauty. During the event, we will clean and process the flowers into syrups and jams for the participants to take home for themselves. Some of the flowers we plan to harvest include violets, clover, henbit, purple deadnettle, dandelion, crocus and bluebells. We will also be on the lookout for spring greens like chickweed and plantain that can be used in salads.
The location will be announced as the date approaches. We will contact you with location details as they are available.
Approximately 1 mile walk on easy walking path. Dress for weather and comfort. No bathroom on-site! Identification materials will be provided at the location.
