Still. Moving: Prism 5 and Prism 7 as interpreted by Frankie Lee III

About

As part of the Still. Moving dance series, choreographer Frankie Lee III presents a new performance inspired by Wim Botha’s sculptures Prism 5 and Prism 7. The work engages with themes of history, power, religion, and identity, drawing from Botha’s references to European art and the tension between elevation and restraint suggested in his suspended wing forms. Through contemporary dance, the performance explores the body as a vessel for meaning, navigating contrasts between freedom and control, ascent and grounding. The piece invites audiences into a reflective space where movement, sculpture, and interpretation intersect, reimagining gallery works through live physical expression.
