Highlighting two artists from Your Brain on Art: Reimagining the Gregg Museum Collection, this program will focus on the connections between Lakisha Harper Bradley and Lamar Whidbee’s individual journeys, as well as the power of art and how the  benefits of creativity can heal. Your Brain on Art: Reimagining the Gregg Museum Collection showcases a diverse collection to illuminate the profound insights of Susan Magsamen and Ivy Ross’s New York Times bestseller Your Brain on Art, a groundbreaking work reshaping the realms of neuroscience and the arts.

Lakisha Bradley is a multifaceted professional combining her expertise as a Social Practice artist, entrepreneur, Mental Health Aid First Responder, and John Brown University counseling graduate student. With 16 years of experience in Walmart corporate retail, she founded the award-winning MY-T-BY-DESIGN Therapeutic Art Studios, which has positively impacted over 20,000 individuals.

Lamar Whidbee, born and raised in the town of Hertford, North Carolina, embarked on a unique journey that evolved from a collegiate football career to the world of visual art. His academic pursuits led to an MFA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a License in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina State University.
