This event is a trail marathon in the heart of the Raleigh-Durham area. Enjoy running among the trees of beautiful Umstead Park. You won’t believe you are just minutes from the busy city streets.
The course is a mix of single track and wide bridle trails. The single track portion is approximately five miles and is early in the race. The rest is wide bridle trails with a surface of crushed stone. Expect well-stocked aid stations with water, energy drink, energy gels and real food. They are spaced every 2-4 miles along the course. The course also features the chainsaw art created by Jerry Redi and Randy Boni
Organizers know the runners are working hard, so they want to make this a great experience. A post-race meal is provided at the finish line. A polyblend shirt is provided for all entries, as are custom pint glasses for all finishers. Parking is close to the start/finish line. There will be a warm lodge to store your gear; just wait for the start gun. This is a small local race with big appeal.
All proceeds go to the Umstead Coalition and the Carolina Godiva Track Club.
