Verse-Chorus: A Songwriting Workshop

Ever wondered what goes into a song and how to get a song started? Are you currently working on your songwriting but feeling stuck or need some tools to keep you going? Kamara Thomas can help. Kamara is a songwriter with over 20 years of experience writing songs and working in a variety of settings, from bands to solo singer-songwriter to musical theater. She has been a teaching artist leading songwriting workshops for many years, and we are excited she is sharing her talents with us. Over the course of this two-day workshop, participants will learn Kamara’s tools and practices for: sparking creativity, finding your specific viewpoint, translating ideas, thoughts and feelings into compelling song work, finding your song’s structure, building interesting melodies, training your ear to listen for the “ideas” within songs for inspiration, All experience levels are welcome. No instrument necessary but bring one if you like!
