About

This summer, we gather on the land. Not because we need a holiday, but because we always have.

Across the African diaspora, gathering has always been a form of remembering. A way to return to ourselves and to one another. Around music. Around smoke rising from the grill. Around stories, laughter, and food passed from hand to hand.

Chef Adé Carrena (Food Network Chopped Champion, NC Chef of the Year) of Dounou Supper Club joins B-Omi Farms for a cookout rooted in diasporic connection, slowing down, and the simple joy of being together. A field of our own with food, music, and people laughing loud.

Just us outside together, the way it’s supposed to be. Set on a 28-acre Afro-Caribbean wellness farm in Wendell, North Carolina, this gathering invites you into a gentler rhythm, one grounded in land, community, music, and good food.

Expect open-fire cooking, dishes inspired by the African diaspora, music drifting through the fields, dancing when the spirit moves you, and the kind of atmosphere where nobody is in a rush to leave. BYOB, bring your favorite wine or beer, bring your people, and come ready to settle in. Because our people have always known how to make something beautiful out of being together.

Chef Adé was named 2023 North Carolina Chef of the Year and recently crowned a Food Network Chopped Champion, Adé is known for her immersive dining experiences that nourish, reclaim, and celebrate diasporic identity. Her acclaimed documentary Bite of Bénin has earned multiple awards for its bold exploration of food, memory, and belonging. Whether in the kitchen or behind the camera, Adé’s work honors ancestry, uplifts community, and feeds liberation.
