The nationally acclaimed Governor James B. Hunt Jr. Horse Complex is one of the best in the country. Renovated in 2004, the 81,000-square-foot enclosed arena includes 4,748 permanent seats. The main show ring is 138 feet by 248 feet, designed for national and regional horse events. A public address system is permanently installed.
Adjacent to the arena building is a covered warm-up arena, 120 feet by 240 feet, and an outdoor warm-up arena of the same size. The complex has 485 permanent stalls with rest rooms and showers and 400 portable stalls. A horse wash is available in the barn area.
The Hunt Horse Complex sits on 30 fenced acres of the 344-acre fairgrounds. The horse complex hosts many horse disciplines including Quarter Horses, Hunters, Jumpers, Dressage, Morgans, Saddlebreds, Hackneys, Roadsters, Ponies, Paso Finos, Arabians and dozens more.
