The N.C. Museum of Art’s Modern and Contemporary Gallery has works by Black artists including Romare Bearden, John Biggers, Aaron Douglas, Minnie Evans and Jacob Lawrence. The museum’s African Gallery preserves historical material from the 19th and 20th centuries and also showcases particular ethnic styles.
