P1t offers one of a kind experiences that combine delectable meals prepared by celebrated farm-to-table chefs with hands-on visits with the charismatic small farmers that supply their kitchens with fresh, healthy, and delicious ingredients. When requesting a booking, we work with you to schedule a special meal with one of various participating farm-to-table chefs in N.C., preceded by a hands-on farm experience. In the farm visit you will do light farming activities alongside the passionate and skilled farmer. Then you will meet the chef in their restaurant, and experience how they honor the craft of “their farmers” by preparing food in ways that simply accentuate the natural flavors and textures of the fresh ingredients they receive from them. A vegetable farming experience: Farmer Jennifer Sanford-Johnson supplies several Raleigh restaurants and the community through a CSA and farmers market. She offers experiences at her farm because she believes we are all connected in this world, and food is a way that it's easy to see. Food grown with respect for the earth, living creatures and people is the epitome of our connection and she wants to share that with others, to spark wonder, new thoughts and ideas. In this farm experience, guests will with the everyday flow of the farm as they are integrated into the daily work schedule for a bit more than an hour. Work changes seasonally so anything can happen! Possibilities include weeding, harvesting, preparing beds to be planted, planting, etc. A delicious vegetarian meal using ingredients from Jenn’s farm: Caroline Morrison, is renowned for her creative all vegetarian dishes and for her commitment to sourcing fresh ingredients from local farmers like Jenn. For this experience Caroline and her staff will prepare a meal that features prominently produce sourced from Jenn’s fields. Pricing starts at $75 per person with a minimum group size of 4 and maximum group size of 12.
