GREATER RALEIGH TAPS INTO NORTH CAROLINA BEER MONTH
April's Calendar Packed with Beer-Themed Events
Raleigh, NC - The taps are flowing this April during the second annual North Carolina Beer Month, and Greater Raleigh is buzzing with a calendar full of beer-related festivals, brewery tours, beer-pairing dinners and even a stationary bike challenge. The Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau (GRCVB) has partnered with the North Carolina Division of Tourism, Film and Sports Development to celebrate and promote craft brewing, a growing North Carolina industry.
The GRCVB is providing residents and visitors a centralized webpage that lists all craft beer events throughout the month of April in an easy-to-read calendar format, information on each of the area's craft breweries and brewpubs, a downloadable Greater Raleigh Beer Trail map and special offers and discounts at select Wake County hotels. www.visitRaleigh.com/beermonth
Craft beer is big business in North Carolina with the state claiming more than 100 craft breweries, providing jobs to 10,000 North Carolinians and pouring nearly $800 million into the state economy. Greater Raleigh is taking a leading role in this growing industry with 15% of the state's craft breweries in operation and at least four more planning to open in the next few months.
Breweries in Greater Raleigh include: Aviator Brewing Company, Big Boss Brewing Company, Bombshell Brewing Company, Boylan Bridge Brewpub, Carolina Brewing Company, Crank Arm Brewing, Fortnight Brewing Company, Gizmo Brew Works, Lonerider Brewing Company, Lynwood Brewing Company, Natty Greene's Pub & Brewing, Raleigh Brewing Company, Sub Noir Brewing, Trophy Brewing Company and White Street Brewing.
