This year marks the 16th Human Rights Campaign (HRC) North Carolina Gala, and it’s happening right here in Raleigh. On February 26th, the Raleigh Convention Center will be home to this annual fund-raising event, bringing together the North Carolina lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender community and their allies for an evening full of gaiety and inspiring calls to action.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the HRC, which is America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve LGBT equality. Chapel Hill Mayor Mark Kleinschmidt will welcome the Gala’s guests, and performer and activist Niki Haris will appear as part of the evening’s entertainment. This event is a huge celebration of everything the LGBT community has accomplished in the past 10 to 15 years, and you’re invited to be a part of the fun. Attendees are encouraged to learn more about the Raleigh area as a GLBT getaway.
You can find opportunities to volunteer or become a table captain and find out more about the cause here. Tickets are discounted for federal club members, major donors and students. This optional black tie/festive attire event is sure to be an evening the community will be talking about long after it has taken place, so buy your tickets now and be a part of something great.
