If you’ve got a passion for brewing or a love for the brew, then a good microbrewery tour may just be the perfect way to spend an afternoon.  Aviator Brewing Company, located south of Cary and Apex in Fuquay-Varina, is a great microbrewery that produces a variety of different beer styles.

Some of the beers you’ll find here include HotRod Red, a somewhat classic Irish Red Ale; Devil’s Tramping Ground Tripel, a hearty Tripel Belgian ale; and SteamHead, a California common beer. There are also a wide variety of seasonal beers to enjoy perfectly with the weather.

Tours at Aviator open at 3 p.m. on Saturdays and officially begin at 4 p.m.  There is no reservation required, but you have to buy a beer to take the tour.  Kids are allowed, so you can easily turn this into a relaxing afternoon with your family.

If you like what you taste at the brewery, you can head on over to the Aviator Tap House, also located in Fuquay-Varina, for an extended afternoon of great brews.  The Tap House is open Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to midnight, and Friday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to midnight. Enjoy team trivia night on Tuesdays, pint night on Wednesdays, and live music Thursday through Saturday.

Aviator Brewing Company’s microbrewery and Tap House are the perfect places to pass the time with a delicious beer that you can’t find anywhere else. Come one, come all. Just make sure you’re thirsty.
