Amid the hustle and bustle of the city, Moore Square offers a charming escape.  This district is romantic and relaxing, with cobblestone streets lined with old-fashioned lampposts, manicured landscapes, and quaint venues where you can shop or dine.

Nestled at the center of this district is Moore Square Park, a block of greenery where many festivals and events are held throughout the year, such as Artsplosure Arts Festival, World Beer Fest and SPARKcon. Moore Square is also home to Marbles Kids Museum and is one of the central hubs for Raleigh’s artsy First Friday event series, during which participating galleries, restaurants and coffeehouses stay open late and offer specials.

City Market is Moore Square’s other point of interest.  Several locals’ restaurant favorites call this place home, including Woody’s at City Market, Vic’s Italian Restaurant and Big Ed’s.  Woody’s, Zydeco and Rum Runners keep this district alive well into the night with live bands and great drinks.

The next time you’re in downtown Raleigh, seek out this charming district and slow your tempo for a bit. Just look for the City of Oaks’ giant copper acorn in Moore Square Park, and you’ll know you’ve arrived.
