ImageThis Sat., Nov. 16, Wakefield High School Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA) will host their 13th annual Mistletoe Market Holiday Fair and fundraiser from 9am–4:30 pm. With more than 200 vendors offering handmade arts and crafts (gifts, jewelry, freshly-cut wreaths, garland, Christmas trees from Western N.C., and also a bake sale, basket raffle and food court), this community event is highly anticipated and frequented by many of the same shoppers year after year. For those who love craft fairs and shopping for unique gifts, this is the mack-daddy experience.

“Our event is open to the public and raises money for the programs of the PTSA and other school organizations such as the Band Boosters, Wolverine Club, FFA and Family, Career and Community Leaders of America,” said event chair Karen Brown.

MM 3Event admission is $5 (children under 12 are free), and shoppers can receive $1 off with the donation of a canned food item. Partnering with Students Against Hunger, a program sponsored by the Central and Eastern North Carolina Food Bank, Mistletoe Market last year collected over 1,000 pounds of food for needy families.

Event sponsors onsite include Brain Balance Achievement Center, Duke Primary Care, Huntington Learning Center, Nerium International and Riccobene Associates Family Dentistry. After shopping, relax and enjoy a break with food court vendors Charlie’s Kabob Grill, Kona Ice, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Papa John’s Pizza and Zaxby’s, as well as baked goods from cakes and cookies to cupcakes and seasonal treats donated by PTSA parents. Two ATMs will be available for shopper convenience.

MM 4The event takes place at Wakefield High, 2200 Wakefield Pines Dr., North Raleigh. For more information, please visit www.wakefieldhsconnect.org/mistletoe-market.html or find them on Facebook.
