On June 16, dads and grandpas will be celebrated in honor of Father’s Day.  In between work, running errands, and spending time with the family, dad might not have had time to do all of the cool things he’s wanted to do this past year.  So why not spend this day, or any other day, taking him around Greater Raleigh to have some fun doing things he’ll enjoy?  Here are some fun ideas by category.

Sports: Take him to the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame to learn about all of the amazing athletes hailing from the state.  Then, take him to a local sporting event like a Carolina RailHawks soccer game.

Racing: Head over to Rush Hour Karting in Garner so he can get behind the wheel himself on a fast and fun track.  Then, swing on by the Legends of Harley Drag Racing Museum for a quick look at drag racing history. Don’t forget about the Wake County Speedway, where he can watch professionals race to the finish line on a professional track.

Music: On Father’s Day, Noah and the Whale will be performing live at the Lincoln Theatre, and the Fantastic Shakers will be performing at North Hills as a part of the Midtown Beach Music series.  If you’re spending another day celebrating your dad, then check out this comprehensive concert schedule to see who will be performing.

If your dad has other hobbies and interests, go to the visitRaleigh.com website and select a category under “Things to Do” for a comprehensive list of activities that will show him just how appreciated he really is.
