It’s almost that time of year when you shed your winter coats, break out your sandals and begin to enjoy some warmer weather.  That’s right, spring begins on March 20th, and what better way to celebrate the warm weather to come than by finding a fun outdoor activity to enjoy.

Cary Long and Short Course Duathlon – On the first day of spring, March 20th, wake up bright and early to participate in a duathlon in Cary at the Thomas Brooks Park.  You can take it easy and run five miles and bike 17.5 miles, or go all the way with 10 miles of running and 31 miles of biking.  It’s your choice! Register here.

Carolina RailHawks Community Shield Exhibition Package – Enjoy two games for the price of one during the first week of spring at the WakeMed Soccer Park.  Enjoy watching the RailHawks play against the New England Revolution on March 20th and against the Montreal Impact on March 27th for only $12.

Historic Raleigh Tour – Start off your first spring week by taking a walking tour where Raleigh’s roots began and learning how the city has evolved to what it is today.  These tours are given every Monday, Wednesday and Friday until April 16th.

Bank of America Raleigh Rocks Half Marathon – Run a half marathon in downtown Raleigh while more than eight bands rock you on from the sidelines.  This year’s bands include The Will McBride Group, Runaway Cab, To the Republic and Aviso.

Easter Egg Hunt – Take your kids to Cary’s 19th annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Fred G. Bond Metro Park.  There will be a morning and an afternoon hunt with magic shows for children 10 and under.

Choose one of these fun ways to celebrate the outdoors and bring in the spring the right way!
