Tour Aviator Brewing Company
Sunday, March 30, 2014, 6pm by Kristen Baughman

Aviator Brewing Company started brewing beer in an airplane hangar at Triple W Airport in Fuquay-Varina, N.C., and opened its hangar doors in Nov. 2008
The brewery moved in Apr. 2010 to a larger, 23,000-square-foot building in Fuquay-Varina and added a hangar to the new building to create a bar. You'll notice many model airplanes and pictures of airplanes throughout the brewery. The brewery bar hours are Thurs. and Fri., 5-9pm, Sat., 3-9pm, and Sun., noon-7pm.
While you're visiting the brewery for a fresh N.C. beer, make sure you take a tour. The brewery recently started using grain from Farm Boy Farms in Pittsboro, N.C., to brew beer. Aviator Brewing Company will be featuring a new pale ale created with the local N.C. grain. Lucky for me, I was there for the brewery's first grain shipment and got to meet the farmer!
While on a brewery tour, you'll have the opportunity to see the canning process. Aviator cans roughly 70 cans per minute, using their own canning line.
It was astounding to see the many cans Aviator Brewing Company goes through in the matter of just a few weeks!
Brewery tours are on Thurs. and Fri. at 6:30pm, and on Sat., 4-6:30pm (the last tour starts at 6:30pm). After your brewery tour, make sure to try a few of Aviator Brewing Company's brews. There are many options like the Devil's Tramping Ground Tripel, HogWild IPA, BlackMamba Oatmeal Stout and more!
