Raleigh celebrates the Bard

Wherefore: Shakespeare in Raleigh was born in 2015 as a collaborative enterprise among a handful of Raleigh, N.C., performing arts organizations that discovered, quite serendipitously, they all were presenting works by the Bard (or about him) in the same timeframe.

Wherefore returns in 2016 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death.

Two signature events at the North Carolina Museum of History in Raleigh will anchor the 2016 Wherefore series:

  • Shakespeare Marathon: 38 Plays in 5 Days (April 23-28, 2016)
  • Exhibition: First Folio! The Book That Gave Us Shakespeare (May 7-30, 2016)

Check out the list below of other Raleigh area arts and cultural presenters that will be featuring Shakespeare's work or adaptations of his work this year.
