Mordecai Historic Park

Located in downtown Raleigh, this site is home to some of N.C.'s most extraordinary treasures, including the Mordecai House and the birthplace of 17th President Andrew Johnson. Tours are offered Tues.-Sun. Historic trolley tours of Raleigh are offered on Sat., Mar.-Dec. Admission and hours vary.

The Mordecai Historic Park Visitor Center offers tour tickets and park information, as well as the gift shop and a state-of-the-art classroom. The Visitor Center Gallery, Classroom and St. Mark's Chapel at Mordecai Historic Park are available for rental for meetings and events.

  • Description: Located in the heart of downtown Raleigh, Mordecai's St. Mark's Chapel provides a warm, intimate setting for any small wedding or gathering. The Mordecai Historic Park Grounds and East Lawn make a unique and memorable backdrop for your special day. Tents, dancing, amplified music, and alcohol are allowed on the grounds.
