Hockey Town: The Stanley Cup Final Comes to Raleigh (Lets. Go. Canes!)
Sunday, May 31, 2026, 9am by visitRaleigh
The City of Raleigh and the Downtown Raleigh Alliance will host Stanley Cup Final watch parties on a giant screen at Moore Square in downtown Raleigh on Tues., June 2 and Thurs., June 4. Go here for more details.
It has been a wild ride for the Carolina Hurricanes over the past 12 months.
Coming off a loss in the Eastern Conference Final last spring, the Canes brought back the majority of their talented roster for this season; ESPN picked them to win the Stanley Cup all the way back in October; they set a franchise record for goals scored in a season (291); finished as the top team in the Eastern Conference; continued a home sellout streak of more than 150 games (they don't call it The Loudest House in the NHL for no reason); and nearly swept their way straight to the Stanley Cup Final, winning 12 of 13 playoff games along the way.

The job's not done—the Canes will now battle the Vegas Golden Knights in the Stanley Cup Final, with Game 1 taking place in Raleigh at Lenovo Center on Tues., June 1. Game 2 will then take place at Lenovo Center on Thurs., June 4.
If necessary Game 5 would take place in Raleigh on Thurs., June 11; Game 7 would be Wed., June 17.

This will be the third time the team has played in the Stanley Cup Final since the team relocated to North Carolina/Raleigh in 1997. Most recently, the Hurricanes defeated Edmonton in 7 games in 2006 for their only title—20 years ago, when now-coach Rod Brind'Amour was a captain on the ice.
Tickets for this year's Final? Available via Ticketmaster's "verified resale" platform (spoiler: not cheap).
