From jewelry to photography to sculpture to traditional art such as painting and mixed media, you will find it all here. The Carter Building houses an eclectic mix of artists, artisans, shops, and boutiques in the hip Glenwood South District of Raleigh, NC. In addition to artists, you'll also find upholstery, cosmetology products, screen printing, glass work, a wine shop, record shop, and so much more.
Historically, The Carter Building has always supported the arts. Starting out as a facility for manufacturing the main rag for the theatrical stage, it has evolved to include many different artists over the years. At certain points in the buildings 60+ year history, it has even housed rock bands and other musicians.
Come out any day and check out all our talented artist residents, various shops, and fashion chic boutiques. We also participate in Raleigh's First Friday event which occurs each month. The building remains open until 9:30pm to give everyone the opportunity to come in, have some wine and snacks, and visit all of our fantastic tenants.
