About GRCVB

The Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is the official and accredited destination marketing organization (DMO) for all of Wake County.

The Bureau was formed in January 1992 by the Wake County Board of Commissioners and the Raleigh City Council, following legislation passed by the 1991 North Carolina General Assembly. It was formerly the Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau, from September 1986 to January 1992, originally a department of the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.

The Greater Raleigh CVB is governed by a 12-member Board of Directors and funded by an approximately 22-percent share of the six-percent Wake County Hotel Occupancy Tax and three-percent share of the one-percent Prepared Food and Beverage Tax.

Our vision is to be the prime visitor advocate and regional leader of destination marketing and product development in Raleigh, N.C. As our vibrant county continues to grow, strong alliances and seamless cooperation among local partners will be the hallmark of our future.
