The 174-acre wildlife park features hiking trails, Historic Yates Mill, Wake County’s last remaining gristmill, and the mill’s 24-acre pond, which is fed by Steep Hill Creek. The 18th century water-powered mill is fully restored and operable. Free admission to the park; mill tour fee: $3-5 (all proceeds directly support the mill's ongoing maintenance and operations). Park hours: Daily, 8am-sunset; Finley Center: Daily, 8:30am-5pm; mill tour hours are limited and vary seasonally.
