Lake Johnson Park comprises more than 300 acres of land surrounding the 150-acre lake. The lake offers boat rentals (jonboats, paddleboats, canoes, kayaks, sailboats, SUPs) and personal boat launches (non-motorized, non-trailered boats). The park also boats picnic shelters, concessions, facility rentals and Capital Area Greenway access, as well as an array of classes and recreational opportunities for the entire family. The lake is great for fishing of largemouth bass, shell cracker, crappie, bream, catfish and carp. Free admission; fee for boat launches and facility rentals. Open daily, sunrise-sunset (closed Mon., Oct.-March).
