Preservation Zebulon Inc., is a tax-exempt non profit founded to promote the historic preservation of structures and memories in Zebulon and its surrounding areas. The area surrounding downtown is full of houses and businesses built from the time of Zebulon’s founding in 1907, and we’d like to see them preserved for future generations. Our group funded the successful nomination and led the effort to establish a Zebulon National Register Historic District, granted in August 2022.
We offer Historic Homes Tours bi-annually in the Spring, downtown historic walking tours, educational events and an annual Zebulation event to highlight our Zebulon Memory Project in the Fall. Our Zebulon Memory Project collects oral histories of the area from residents with pre- 1970 memories to share. We are also busy digitizing old photos from residents and would love to add your pre-1980 Zebulon photos to our archive.
