Founded in 1994, SAFE Haven for cats is Raleigh’s no-kill shelter and low-cost spay/neuter clinic. Since opening, SAFE Haven has orchestrated the adoptions of more than 16,000 cats and kittens and spayed or neutered over 60,000 animals in our clinic.
As a nonprofit organization, SAFE Haven relies heavily on donations from the community to support its lifesaving work and programs. To maximize the percentage of every dollar going directly to the care of the cats, we have only ten full-time paid staff members. All other work and love come from our dedicated volunteers.
There are two ways to see the cats and adopt: make an appointment or just drop by the shelter. All potential adopters will be asked to submit an Adoption Interest Survey either online or in person. Once your application is approved, an adoption counselor will email you letting you know you were approved and will provide additional information.
