Opening in early 2021, Sam Jones BBQ Raleigh is the second location of third generation pitmaster Sam Jones’ restaurant. Sam Jones BBQ is rooted in the tradition of North Carolina whole-hog barbecue that Sam has known his entire life. After realizing that the family business was his calling, Sam worked with the Jones’ acclaimed barbecue mecca, Skylight Inn, before deciding to open his first location of Sam Jones BBQ in 2015 in Winterville, N.C. The Raleigh location will have many similarities to its sister restaurant, including a detached pit house, which will turn out freshly smoked, wood-fired meats daily, ensuring the integrity of Eastern North Carolina barbecue is preserved. In addition to chopped meats, other menu highlights include tried-and-true Southern staples at their finest, such as slow-cooked chicken, spare ribs, pork skins & pimento cheese, sweet slaw, baked beans, hand-cut fries, collard greens, and more.
