Sorry State Records is a brick-and-mortar record shop, record label, and online store based in Raleigh, North Carolina. We sell new and used records and frequently travel hundreds of miles to buy small and large used vinyl collections. We provide top-notch customer service for our in-store and online customers as well as the people whose collections we buy.
History
Sorry State began as a record label in 2005, releasing a 7" vinyl record called Nuclear Tomorrow, the second EP by Direct Control. Since then we have put out nearly 100 releases, including many from the label's home state of North Carolina and from locales as far-flung as Sweden and Japan. We've also grown into one of the fastest, most reliable, and well-curated punk rock distributors in the world.
With the opening of our brick and mortar store in Downtown Raleigh in 2013, Sorry State began carrying a much wider range of music, from our specialties in punk rock and heavy metal to classic rock, jazz, soul, and more. Our selections of jazz vinyl and collectible records are among the best in the southeast.
