An African-American newspaper founded in 1940 by P.R. Jervay Sr., the paper published seven editions, which were circulated in major cities throughout N.C. Today “The Carolinian” is the only African-American newspaper published twice weekly in the state. The newspaper remains family-owned and operated and is currently run by co-publishers Paul R. and Evelyn H. Jervay. Hours: Mon.-Fri., 9am-5pm.
