About

Vitis House is the first professional wine school in North Carolina. A variety of courses designed by Wine & Spirit Education Trust® (WSET)—the most prestigious wine-training program in the world—in addition to exclusive wine tasting and pairing classes are offered at the Raleigh-based school. Renowned international chef, Doreen Colondres, is the instructor at Vitis House. She is a tenured leader in the realm of Hispanic and Mediterranean cuisine, and brings an equally-mature knowledge of Bordeaux wine to the Triangle area. In 2013 Colondres (a certified WSET level three) became the first Hispanic Celebrity Chef for Bordeaux Wine Council. Whether you are an industry professional or a casual wine connoisseur, Vitis House encourages its students to unlock the passion found within the art of wine. In spring 2020, the school will offer two-hour cooking classes to groups of 12. The flavors found in delicious Mediterranean and Hispanic foods will accentuate the bold aromas of various wines from around the world.
