Walnut Creek Athletic Complex was built in 1992 and renovated in 2019. The softball facility features nine fenced, halogen-lit diamonds with skinned infields and hybrid grass outfields. Amenities include: all fields with underground irrigation, 18 bullpens, nine newly built scorekeeping areas at the backstop of each field, a public-address system throughout the entire complex, wireless internet connection and a food truck alley between wheels. Wheel 1 has five fields and Wheel 2 has four fields. Additional amenities include enclosed and covered dugouts, and each wheel features a control tower with bathrooms and referee lounge.
Walnut Creek has hosted the NCAA Division III Softball Championships, NCHSAA Softball Championships, PONY Championships, North Carolina State Games and the N.C. State University, Shaw University and Saint Augustine's University softball teams.
