31 Days of Art: "Spring Awakening" at Raleigh Little Theatre

Reason #15 for visiting Greater Raleigh during 31 Days of Art:
You find theatre intellectually (and musically!) stimulating.
If you love a good musical, be sure to check out this rock-and-roll take on a story of teenagers in late 19th century Germany discovering the inner and outer tumult of their sexuality. Spring Awakening was originally banned overseas due to its frank portrayal of mature and visceral content. With book and lyrics by Steven Sater and music by Duncan Sheik, this Tony winner weaves a coming-of-age story with a ravishing musical score!
Raleigh Little Theatre hosts productions of recognizable titles as well as those that are rarely, if ever, performed in the Triangle. Part of their City Series, this show has been called “Rent for the next generation,” with The New York Times describes it as “haunting and electrifying.” The show runs Thursday through Sunday, October 4-27.
