North Carolina definitely has bragging rights when it comes to the weather, with beautiful summers, mild winters and almost perfect weather in between the two seasons. However, because of the mildness of our climate, folks around here barely ever see snow or ice. Well the people in Wake Forest have no problem with that! They’ve got their very own Ice House that operates even on the hottest of summer days.
The Polar Ice House serves as a public recreational facility where anyone can go in and enjoy ice-skating on two different rinks! Not to mention the venue includes an indoor turf field, two indoor basketball courts, six basketball courts, and two baseball training lanes so you’ll never run out of activities to participate in!
The Ice House also is home to many hockey and soccer leagues, so there is always a game or two to cheer on. Or if you’re in the mood for a quick aerobics class or game of Ultimate Frisbee, the Ice House is your destination location. For those who find it more convenient, there are also Ice House locations in Garner and Cary. If you’re looking for a day full of activity, the Ice House is the place to be. So come beat the heat or even escape the dreary cold and get out on the ice!
