    • Space Notes Burning Coal Theatre’s beautiful flexible theatre, The Murphey School Auditorium, is available to rent for performances, weddings, receptions, meetings and presentations. The Murphey School Auditorium is a historic building, originally part of a school house built in 1908, that has been renovated into a 150-seat black box theatre. Platforms and chairs are easily moved around for various seating options. Rentals include the entire space. The auditorium has tall windows for lots of sunlight, and black-out shades that are ideal for projected presentations, and balcony on 3 sides. The lobby has a reclaimed wood and concrete bar with a mini fridge and microwave, as well as modern restrooms. Backstage is a private dressing area, a full-size fridge, and a countertop that many renters utilize for catering prep. Renters may use the stage's lighting equipment if they hire a qualified professional. If you might want to rent the space, email us at coalartisticdir@ncrrbiz.com for availability and tour scheduling.
