The Cary Theater property was once home to the town's first indoor movie theater, built in 1946, which hosted live performances as well as films. The property was subsequently used as a clothing store, auto parts store and recording studio. Renovated to its former glory as a theater, now The Cary Theater marquee lights up downtown Cary with the mission of providing a unique setting for art house cinema and live performance that enhance the cultural arts experience in downtown Cary.
The Cary Theater features 176-seat theater, lighted marquee and a concession service. It offers art house independent and classic films, music and live performances including stand-up comedy!
