The Depot, built sometime between 1867 and 1873, is designated as a Wake County landmark. This location marked the highest point on the old Chatham Railroad. Once serving as a working railroad depot station, this building is now home to the Town of Apex Welcome Center.
The Welcome Center offers complimentary magazines, brochures, guides, and maps to those who have relocated to or are visiting Apex. The Welcome Center also has a variety of "The Peak of Good Living" merchandise available for purchase.
