Comprehensive Music Calendar, themostnc.com, Launches Today
Collaboration between 15 Local Live Music Leaders Leads to Comprehensive Music Website
Raleigh, N.C. (Jan. 21, 2015) - In an effort to provide the most comprehensive live music calendar for Wake County, the Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau (GRCVB), in collaboration with 15 representatives from area music venues, music festivals/presenters and other businesses in the local live music scene (the GRCVB Live Music Advisory Committee), has created themostnc.com, a robust live music calendar launching today.
The website, which is powered by visitRaleigh.com, lists live music events in an easy-to-read monthly format as well as gives music fans the opportunity to learn about the area's music scene from area residents (insiders, as we like to call them) and bands. themostnc.com features spotlight videos, plus links to blog articles on blog.visitraleigh.com about Greater Raleigh's music scene. The first featured video is from Raleigh bluegrass band and Yep Roc Records recording artists Chatham County Line.
"The Raleigh area is home to dozens of various event calendars, but what it was missing was an unbiased, impartial listing of events and concerts relevant to both residents and travelers," said Dave Rose, co-owner of Deep South Entertainment. "With the launch of this website it is the bridge to bring all of that live music information together in a centralized place."
It's all in the name - themostnc.com refers to the fact that Raleigh has the most live music in North Carolina. The most dates, the most venues, the most bands, the most genres-the most any Music Maniac could hope to find. You can find a show here every day of the year and from one end of the county to the other, not to mention major music festivals like Hopscotch and Wide Open Bluegrass.
"Knowing that live music is a tourism driver, the GRCVB spearheaded an initiative to bring these 15 partners together under a Live Music Advisory Committee (LMAC), which ultimately led to the creation of themostnc.com," said Loren Gold, executive vice president of the GRCVB. "We looked to these music experts to help us develop a site that gives fans exactly the type of information they are looking for when seeking out live music opportunities in the Raleigh area."
The LMAC, which not only helped to envision a site that appeals to music fans, both information-wise and graphically, also works together to make sure that concerts listed present a wide variety of shows at various venues, big and small, that appeal to a wide range of audiences. Venues do not have to be a participating member of the Live Music Advisory Committee to have their concerts or music events listed; all Wake County live music events can receive listings.
Bands are encouraged to check themostnc.com and visitRaleigh.com and submit events at www.visitRaleigh.com/events/submit-an-event if they aren't listed.
