Raleigh, NC - The Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau (GRCVB) announces that Jamie Rice has been named Regional Director of National Accounts for the Washington DC area market, where she will be based.
In her new role, Rice will oversee the Washington, D.C. sales office, which also includes the Maryland and Virginia territories. Charged with selling the entire Wake County community, including the Silver LEED Certified Raleigh Convention Center, she will target all national association, corporate and 3rd party accounts excluding religious and minority organizations.
"Jamie is the perfect fit for the Greater Raleigh team where she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the meeting industry to our Convention Sales department," said Denny Edwards, president and CEO of the GRCVB. "Being headquartered out of Washington, she will be able to maintain a constant presence at conferences and meetings that are critical for the success of promoting Greater Raleigh as a premier meeting and convention destination."
Rice brings more than 15 years of hospitality and tourism industry experience to the Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau. Most recently, she was National Sales Manager, Business Development - Audio Visual Solutions for Freeman, and also has a background with the Toronto Convention & Visitors Association and the Baltimore Convention & Visitors Association.

Rice is an active member of Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI), Meeting Planners International (MPI), Association for Meeting Planners (AMP) and Miami University Alumni Recruiting Network.
The Greater Raleigh CVB is a non-profit agency that promotes Raleigh and Wake County to enhance the economic growth and development of Raleigh and Wake County by increasing visitor and convention business.
