TRIANGLE VOLLEYBALL CLUB ANNOUNCES DATES FOR MAPL RALEIGH 2010

MORRISVILLE, NC: Triangle Volleyball Club is pleased to announce that MAPL Raleigh 2010 will be held on February 6th and 7th at the Raleigh Convention Center [RCC]. The Mid-Atlantic Power League [MAPL] event will feature seventy-two elite level Junior Olympic Girls volleyball teams from as far away as Pennsylvania. The two-day tournament will be the second such event hosted by Triangle and the largest indoor junior event ever in central North Carolina. MAPL Raleigh 2010 is expected to bring over 750 student-athletes, plus coaches, parents, spectators, and college recruiters to the downtown Raleigh area.

"Last year's MAPL was ground-breaking for us" says Triangle Executive Director Casey Caram, "and served to better the league as a whole. MAPL Raleigh 2009 was a success in many ways. It bolstered Raleigh's economy by an estimated $400,000. With twenty additional teams slated to attend in 2010, we expect even greater exposure or Raleigh as a destination for youth sports and especially volleyball."

"Working with the city and the Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitor's Bureau has been a fantastic experience," explains Sherry Fadool, Director of Marketing and development for Triangle. "They have been tremendously supportive and we are thrilled to be hosting this event again in downtown Raleigh.

MAPL Raleigh 2010 features 15 courts and will utilize more than two-thirds of the available exhibit hall space at the RCC. Play will begin at 8 AM on Saturday and continue to approximately 8 PM. Play will resume at 8 AM Sunday. The tournament is expected to wrap up Sunday afternoon.

Admission is $3 per day or $5 for both days. On-site concessions and vendor sales will also be available on site.
Event sponsorships are available. For more information contact Sherry Fadool, fadool@trianglevolleyball.org.
