Residents urged to share thoughts on facility’s future

Today, the Town of Zebulon and Wake County Government launched a joint survey to gather residents’ input about their vision for the future of Five County Stadium. The Carolina Mudcats will depart the facility after the 2025 baseball season, and the town and the county are planning for what will come next.

The survey will help the town and county evaluate the ongoing request for proposals for Five County Stadium, which seeks innovative ideas from investors and other interested entities on utilizing the existing stadium best and developing the surrounding area.

“Today’s survey launch will allow our residents to offer their vision for Five County Stadium and help shape the site’s future,” said Mayor Glenn L. York of Zebulon. “We will use the feedback to assist in evaluating the results of our RFP and select the best proposal that meets the needs of our community.”

Potential future uses could include:

  • Hosting another professional sports team
  • Mixed-use development
  • Other recreation and entertainment options

“We encourage the community to join us as we reimagine what the next phase of Five County Stadium could include,” said Vice Chair Don Mial of the Wake County Board of Commissioners. “This is our time to create opportunities that will benefit the residents in the area now and in the years ahead.”

Getting Connected
There are several ways residents can share their input:

  • The anonymous survey is available online in English and Spanish.
  • The town has also established a dedicated voicemail box where residents can leave a message to share their thoughts on the stadium’s future. The phone number is 919-327-3754 and can be called any time.
  • Starting Monday, Feb. 10, at 9 a.m., residents can complete a paper survey at the Zebulon Town Hall, Zebulon Community Center, and Zebulon Community Library.

Interested community members have until Feb. 28, at 5 p.m. to offer their feedback.
