Wish You Were Here

We really miss sporting events here in Greater Raleigh.

We miss seeing you catch up with the competitors you haven't been around since last year's tournament. We miss seeing you checking in and looking for room assignments and field maps and the schedule. We miss seeing your uniforms and your equipment and buses packed with athletes.

At the Greater Raleigh Sports Alliance, we consider this period of time nothing but a pause. We'll all be back at it pretty soon, and the regular rhythm of quarterfinals then semis then finals will return.

In fact, the visitRaleigh.com Showcase Series is still set for this fall at WRAL Soccer Park and fields across the area, and venues such as the Raleigh Convention Center—which just achieved the prestigious Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) STAR™ facility accreditation—plus other facilities are preparing for reopening when possible. In addition, the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services has released sports-specific interim guidance and interim guidance for different venue sizes here:

Count on Me NCIn addition, many area restaurants and hotels have been certified through the statewide Count On Me NC program, which teaches hospitality businesses how to ensure the best and safest practices when serving guests. Event service suppliers have also been certified in the program.
