Located in the historic 1874 Briggs Building in downtown Raleigh, the COR Museum offers a distinctive and character-rich setting for events. The space highlights the building’s preserved architectural features, including its original hardwood floors, pressed-tin ceiling and striking storefront façade.

The museum’s lobby, main galleries and lower-level classroom are all available for rental, providing flexible options for a variety of gatherings. The venue accommodates up to 150 guests and offers flexible setup options, perfect for wedding, corporate events, social gatherings and more. Melrose Knitting Mill

For a more industrial and historic vibe, Melrose Knitting Mill is the perfect choice. This renovated textile mill-turned event venue is known for its exposed brick walls, high ceilings and rustic charm. Originally known as the Melrose Textile Mill, the building once manufactured undergarments and bathing suits and operated until 1930, closing shortly after the stock market crash of “Black Tuesday.” It then sat largely vacant for decades, aside from occasional short-term tenants, until its revitalization in the 21st century.

Today, the venue offers 3,200 square feet of event space and accommodates up to 180 guests. On-site catering is provided by Mulino Italian Kitchen & Bar, one of Raleigh’s most popular Italian restaurants, adding to the experience. The combination of historic character and modern amenities creates an elevated and memorable setting for meetings and events.

 

Greg Poole, Jr. All Faiths Chapel

Overlooking downtown Raleigh, the Greg Poole Jr. All Faiths Chapel is a unique venue in the heart of Dix Park. The historic building is surrounded by an event lawn, front terrace and lovely gardens. Built in 1955, the chapel’s mid-century modern architecture is well preserved with decorative wood elements, a rose stained-glass window, terrazzo floors and mid-century stainless fixtures. Renovated in 2020, the chapel now provides all the amenities of a modern community gathering space while retaining its historic charm.

The main hall has an open floor plan with an elevated stage and accommodates approximately 200 guests seated at tables, 400 guests seated auditorium style or 450 guests standing reception style. Amenities include tables and chairs, catering staging kitchen, two dressing areas, Wi-Fi and AV capabilities.

Mordecai Historic Park

Another downtown Raleigh highlight, Mordecai Historic Park offers a unique blend of history and modern event space. Home to some of North Carolina’s most notable landmarks—including the Mordecai House and the birthplace of President Andrew Johnson—the site provides a distinctive and memorable setting for meetings and gatherings.

The historic park features several rentable venues, including the Visitor Center Gallery, classroom and the charming St. Mark’s Chapel, which offers an intimate space for weddings and small events. The scenic grounds and East Lawn provide a picturesque backdrop for outdoor functions, with accommodations for tents, dancing and amplified music. With flexible capacities, including receptions for up to 250 guests and seated events for smaller groups, Mordecai Historic Park combines historic ambiance with versatile event options in a centrally located setting.

 

All Saints Chapel

Originally built in 1875 as a Gothic Revival church, All Saints Chapel now serves as a stunning event venue. Thoughtfully restored, the venue beautifully preserves its historic charm while offering modern flexibility for today’s events. The open floor plan of the Chapel and Reception Hall allows for easy customization, making it ideal for meetings, receptions and special gatherings of all kinds.

The space can accommodate up to 200 guests for theater-style seating in the chapel, 140 guests for a seated reception upstairs, 120 guests for a seated reception downstairs and up to 200 guests for a mixed standing and seated reception upstairs. A built-in sound system and prep kitchen provide essential support for catered events, while the chapel’s striking stained-glass windows, high ceilings and rich woodwork create a timeless and elegant backdrop.
