AUSL All-Star Cup hits Holly Springs
Professional women’s softball is making waves this summer with the launch of the AUSL—and Wake County is part of the story. From Aug. 2-4, Ting Stadium in Holly Springs hosted the opening series of the 2025 AUSL All-Star Cup (a 24 game event taking place Aug. 2-31 in three U.S. cities). Four games were played in Holly Springs in front of sold-out crowds and aired nationally on ESPN platforms. Backed by Major League Baseball, AUSL is gaining momentum quickly.
The Soccer Tournament (TST) and The Cary Cup bring the heat
From pro-level to youth play, Cary, N.C., was the center of soccer excitement this summer. TST returned to WakeMed Soccer Park with its signature 7v7 format, bringing international teams, pro athletes and two $1 million prizes on the line. With 48 men’s teams, 16 women’s teams and players from 34 countries, the event welcomed over 51,000 attendees during its six-day run.
Meanwhile, the inaugural Cary Cup welcomed top youth soccer talent from across the country as a can’t-miss event for aspiring players and their families. The tournament also used the revolutionary Target Score Time™ and other TST rules including 7v7 format matchups, custom field dimensions and on-the-fly substitutions, all making for exciting non-stop action.
